This past week and a half has shown a big improvement in my mood; I am hopeful the worst is over for awhile. I've had a terrible year of mood swings that nearly resulted in the loss of my job and it definitly has alienated me from all my coworker.

My pdoc prescribed a beta-blocker for my anxiety; I only need it on work days as work brings out the worst of my anxiety. I only take it when I begin to feel overwhelmed and what a world of difference it has made.

This post isn't meant to puff myself up or to give you feelings of despair ~ my wish is to let you know there will be periods in your life when the clouds lift and the sunshine breaks through.

Never give up.

I'm happy for you spott. I'm always pleased when I can read a success story. I wish I was feeling the same way. I thought I was doing well but then I drove out of town today and I couldn't stop crying and all the crummy feelings kept coming back. I'm not giving up yet though. I'm still here.

Indeed! Such wonderful news Spott!

Spot, I went through a rough time with my co-workers before my bp was diagnosed and I was on medication for it. They all hated me. Now that I am more stable and behaving more like a normal human being, we are all great friends. I'm close-enough with one of them that she even told me that she was on anti-depressants and we have kept one another updated as to what we are currently taking (anti-depressants only; she does not know that I am only bipolar, only the depression part.)

Just curious, but what is the med your pdoc put you on for anxiety at work. I have the same issue, fine at home, dreadful anxiety at work.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.
It's about learning to dance in the rain.

Hey MadHat.

Be ause of my rheumatoid arthritsi and asthma I am a bit challenging when it comes to meds. I pdoc reluctantly prescribed propranolol (a beta-blocker). It is primarily used to high blood pressure (I don't have that) but it helps regulate the heartrate as well. I take it as needed and not every day. Some days only 1/2 dose and others 4 full doses.

A side benefitto me is that I have an irregular heartbeat and it helps keep it more regular as well.

Thanks everyone for the support ~ I am hopeful this baselne can hang arond for quite some time.
