I am going to start taking 25 mg of regular seroqel not the xr for help with sleep. Will I feel very hungover or does that usually come with the xr version? I am going to be using it to offset the insomnia from abilify. Thanks for any input.

I've take 25 mg of the regular Seroquel and did feel groggy in the morning, but not too much past 8 am or so. I've never take 25 mg of Seroquel XR, only take 150 mg of Seroquel XR and also felt groggy until 8 am or so. For me, the difference between the 2 has been by taking all 150 mg of Seroquel XR at night I have energy during the day. When I took the regular Seroquel I had to take it 3 X per day and I was slightly sedated during the day. So far, even though it is a small dose, I like Seroquel XR because it hasn't made me gain weight. Yet. I've been on the XR only for about 2 weeks.

turtleluv,

I have been on 800mg of Seroquel XR for almost 2 years. It has not affected my sleep. I also haven't had any hangovers from it. I have never taken the other type, so I can't say much.

I do have a few friends who use small doses of regular Seroquel for sleep. They report that they feel sleepy very quickly and get to sleep easily. The hangover, for them, only lasted a short while and then disappeared.

Everyone is different, because our body chemistry differs. You will only know by trying. Best of luck to you.

I'm damned if I'll be defeated.
