Seizures from Wellbutrin

Hello,
Has anyone had seizures from taking Wellbutrin? My dosage was increased to 200mg in the morning and 200mg in the afternoon. I had several seizures at home but have amnesia on all accounts and only know what my friend and neighbor told me. In one instance I fell down 8 flights of stairs and my glasses and phone for found scattered around my bottom neighbors door. He heard a lot of banging going on, but thought someone was moving out. My friend called me on the phone and heard banging going on and the phone went dead. She came over right away and I was laying in my bed. She said, what is wrong and I said nothing. Then why do you have hematoma's all over your body and bruises. I said, I don't know. The only memory I have is that my vision went blurry that morning and I though oh crap I need new glasses. I didn't recall having breakfast with my friend that morning or how I got to the hospital and what happened there. Apparently I had another seizure on the way to X-Ray. My hematoma was 12 inches round and my ribs were all bruised. Basically my whole body was harmed including my teethe. The hospital claims it was from the increase in Wellbutrin. They also made an incorrect assumption that I was withdrawing off Ativan which was part of the seizure. This came about because my friend told the team that morning we dropped off my Ativan script and the pharmacy said there was a nationwide shortage of the medication. I was due to take my ativan at noon and arrived at hospital at 3PM. So now I suppose my chart is marked for an untrue assumption the team made because they did not listen. Spent 4 days in the hospital and got home Saturday and had another seizure. I have an appointment with a neurologist August 7th. My tongue was so chewed up and swollen I had to drink through a straw and I felt like I was going to choke. I'm glad I don't remember the events because it would of scared me. They upped my Lamictal to 300mg for the seizures and I'm on hold at 150mg on the Wellbutrin until I see the neurologist. The hospital wanted me to taper off the Wellbutrin and get on another medication for depression. I'm really very confused and don't understand why this happened.

I feel so bad for you! It’s hard enough having bipolar without med side effects. I hope they figure this out and you get better.

Wellbutrin can be a helpful drug but it can also lower your brains threshold level to having seizures. I was on it for a while but I also was taking anti seizure meds at the same time for my migraines.
Hope they take you off this and find something better. I’m on Effexor for my antidepressant.

Wellbutrin can be a helpful drug but it can also lower your brains threshold level to having seizures. I was on it for a while but I also was taking anti seizure meds at the same time for my migraines.
