I'm sorry that no one has replied to this sooner. I've been away trying to get my life into a better place having a diagnosis of bipolar, PTSD and BPD. In my case, my blood was sent to the Mayo clinic for genetic testing and it was found that my body doesn't produce enough of the enzyme p450 - 2D6. This enzyme is responsible for helping to regulate the amount of serotonin in your body. The PTSD was clear enough as I lived in a very abusive environment from the age of 5 until my mother tried to kill me in front of my father when I was 15. I was sent for testing for a diagnosis to a psychiatrist at an agency where I didn't get services. It did come out that I had a BPD. My biggest problem is the constant fear of being left alone and abandoned. I actually have problems when I don't hear from my birth family for awhile(even though I only met them in August of 2012) or if my girlfriend quits talking to me due to her own symptoms.
I would suggest to see a psychiatrist and request to be tested for various personality disorders. If you do have BPD there is a good treatment based on Buddhism called DBT(Dialectic Behavioral Therapy). It's helped me a great deal in being able to stand up for my rights and addressing many of the symptoms, as before you can change something you need to recognize the symptoms as they are happening.
Well wishes.
